IT course in Lingen. October 2009
The VHS offered several IT courses within the framework fo the activeICT project. Most of these courses were designed for absolute beginners.
During these courses we used some of the learning and teaching materials we exchanged with the Latvian "Personality Socialization Research Institute" in Rezekne.
In courses for slighty advanced learners we set up a "test center" where learners can test their already gained computer skills.
After the log-in with the password "active", they can choose between 4 different tests according to their skills and find out what they already know about the computer and/or the Internet. These tests are absolutely anonymous and can help overcome learners' fear of joining in a conversation about any computer topic and give them self-confidence.
In the course of this project another ICT tutor developed a new course. During an excursion learners take pictures with their digital cameras, transfer them to their computer, edit them and finally upload them to a Web album (Picasa). Then they can share their photos with friends and family.
